By Adeboye Amosu:
Heartland goalkeeper Ebele Obi is happy to be back on the pitch again following his six-game suspension, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The elder brother of Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi was handed the ban by the League Management Company for allegedly attacking the centre referee during the Naze Millionaires’ week 11 clash against FC IfeanyiUbah in Nnewi.
Ebele returned to action in Heartland’s 0-0 draw against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
He told Completesportsnigeria.com he is relieved to be between the sticks again for the Owerri-based oufit.
“To say I missed the game would be an understatement but I’m happy everything is over now,” Ebele told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“The issue of the suspension is behind me now and I don’t want to talk about it again.
“I’m happy with the result against Kano Pillars which makes my comeback a memorable one.
“The Sani Abacha stadium is a difficult place to play, so a draw against Pillars is a massive result for us.”
The former Rangers goalie is expected to be in goal when his side face Plateau United in a matchday 18 fixture on Wednesday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
