–Set for Chelsea return
Victor Moses has been ruled out for the season in a blow to Stoke City’s hopes of securing a top-10 finish.
According to telegraph.co.uk, Moses is expected to be out for about six weeks after suffering a complex hamstring problem in the 1-1 draw at West Ham United on Saturday.
The Nigeria international will return to parent club Chelsea for treatment following the results of a scan at Stoke’s training ground yesterday.
Stoke were initially hopeful Moses had only picked up a hamstring injury, but the scan has also revealed an issue with the winger’s tendon.
Mark Hughes, the manager, is now resigned to being without the 24-year-old for the remainder of the campaign.
Moses’s injury could also impact on Stoke’s bid to sign him permanently in the summer.
A £9 million signing from Wigan Athletic in August 2012, Moses has scored four goals for Stoke since joining on loan.
