Victor Moses has expressed optimism that West Ham can do the double against Manchester City when both teams clash in the Premier League on Saturday.
In the reverse fixture at the Etihad, West Ham shocked City 2-1, with Moses scoring one of the goals.
In an interview on West Ham's official website, the Nigeria star stated that they have enough quality players to cause City problems.
“I remember the game very well. After the Newcastle game where I made my debut and we managed to get the three points, we then had another big game at Manchester City," Moses said.
“We went to the Etihad Stadium and were really looking forward to the game.
“It was really important that we got an early goal and that gave us the perfect springboard to work hard as a team and we then managed to get the second goal.
“They came back into the game and pulled a goal back right on half-time, so we had to re-group again and stop them scoring the equaliser. The most important thing is the hard work and we definitely put a shift in that day.
“We can cause them lots of problems with the position we find ourselves in the table. We just want to keep winning games and it doesn't matter who we are playing against.
“If we can beat Manchester City at their place, there is no reason why we cannot do the same at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday. It will be a good game and hopefully we can get the result that we deserve on Saturday.
“There was definitely belief among the players that we could get the victory. If you look at the quality of players that we have got, we were all on top form that day and having beaten Arsenal and Liverpool, we went there full of confidence that we could get a result.
“We knew it would be a tough task, but we stuck together as a team and made sure that we got the three points that we deserved.”
The on-loan Chelsea forward reminisced on his goal against City in their first meeting.
He added: “I was kind of delighted with that strike! I got the ball from Payet and when I turned, there was nobody around me.
“The next thing on my mind was to have a shot and thankfully the ball went into the corner. That was the first time I had scored past Joe Hart as well.
“You have got to be happy when you score against Manchester City because they are a good team and have world class players. Scoring against them meant a lot to me.”
He went on to comment on the positive feeling in the team.
“The spirit is a lot different. Everyone wants to play for the manager and looking forward to each game," Moses said.
“Everyone wants to express themselves to make sure the manager and fans are happy. It is good to win games and we have definitely showed with our spirit this season that we are prepared to come back in any game and come away with a positive result.”
