West Ham forward Victor Moses has withdrawn from Nigeria’s friendlies against Cameroon and Congo billed for next weel in Belgium.
The Super Eagles face their African rivals in Belgium on 8 October and 11 October to prepare for upcoming qualifiers.
The Nigeria Football Federation announced on their Twitter handle late on Sunday night that Moses had withdrawn, but gave no further details.
Completesportsnigeria.com however learnt that Moses wrote to the NFF explaining that he was taking a precautionary step to avoid aggravating an injury he picked up while playing for West Ham.
Moses was in action on Saturday in West Ham’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Sunderland, setting up one of his side’s goals.
He was taken off early in the second half, after apparently getting injured.
The friendlies in Belgium would have been Moses’ first games under Sunday Oliseh, who met with the former Wigan star in London in the early days of his (Oliseh’s) tenure.
