Jose Mourinho has confirmed that record signing, Paul Pogba, will play a part in Manchester United's home game against Southampton on Friday.
Pogba, did not feature against Bournemouth due to suspension.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Friday's game, Mourinho stated that with the little training session he has had with the team, no radical change was needed to accomodate the France international.
“We played against Leicester with players with less training than him and we saw that match as a way to improve them and accelerate the process.
“With Paul it’s a bit the same – not one single minute of any pre-season match but almost two weeks of work with us, sometimes with the group, sometimes separately, and the condition is okay to play some minutes.”
“He has adapted really easily because he knows the club, knows everybody. He has no need to have time to adapt, but he’ll need time to build his condition and his understanding of how the team plays and how he’ll fit in with that.”
“We are not going to play with five at the back because with Juventus he played with five at the back. We are not going for dramatic changes. But yes there are changes in details in the game where we will have to change.”
And on how long Zlatan Ibrahimovic will spend at United and the impact of the Old Trafford fans, Mourinho said:“I see him happy, I ask him everyday, because I know how important it is for a family guy like he is, I ask every day about wife, kids, house, integration, and he is happy, everybody is happy, his motivation is happy. So I have no doubt that he will be here for two years.”
"If at Old Trafford a couple for thousand away opponents can be more supportive and more noisy than 70 something thousand, then we are in trouble and it means that there is no connection between the team and the supporters.”
“If there is connection, I think that factor of being strong at home has to be back. But I think everything starts with that relation between the team and the fans.
"The way the team plays and the way the team behaves, that includes the mental approach, if the fans feel that connection and if the fans play, there is no chance for the opponent.”
