Mourinho Rings Changes For United Vs Reading; Rooney, Romero, Bastian For FA Cup Tie

Jose Mourinho says he will rest some of his players in their Saturday's FA Cup Third Round clash against Championship club Reading at Old Trafford, and feature others who deserve to play, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

In his post-match comments after United's 2-0 away win against West Ham last Monday, Mourinho stated that some of his players need to rest. He revealed that skipper Wayne Rooney and Sergio Romero will return to the team.

"We have to do that (rest players). Some players, they need a little rest. Many players, they need to play. Many players deserve to play. I trust them all," Mourinho said during his Friday's press conference.

Mourinho disclosed that Bastian Schweinsteger will be in the United squad for the game against Reading.

"He’s selected again, so he can start, he can be on the bench, but he’s an option for us. I think that’s the best way to describe [him]; for many months he wasn’t an option, we made that decision. Since then, he’s been working very well and never an injury – he was ill last week, but never an injury. His body is fine, he’s training very well, he’s ready."

And on Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay leaving United, Mourinho said that he will only sanction a move for the right price.

"Their situation is exactly the same. I will allow them to leave the club, I will allow them to leave if the right offer comes and until this moment, no. We are waiting for something that a couple of weeks ago looked 100 per cent. In this moment, it looks like zero per cent because we don’t have any offer that is close to the quality the players have."
