Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has said Nigeria midfielder Mikel Obi has what it takes to become captain of the club some day.
According to telegraph.co.uk, Mourinho made this known in a question and answer session with reporters where he touched on different issues.
“Mikel is, after John (Terry), the guy with most years of Chelsea. I think (Cesc) Fabregas has personality for a captain too. Eden is coming with big status now and was voted one of the top ten players in Europe last year. In my opinion he should be in the top three not in the top ten.
“Let’s see what is going to happen but we have these people. But let’s say John and Branislav are our captains and the others are ready to come.”
Mikel and Super Eagles colleague Victor Moses were in action for Chelsea in their 6-5 penalty shootout win against PSG in the International Champions Cup on Saturday.
Moses scored Chelsea’s only goal in regulation time and was named man of the match.
