Musa: Eagles Back On Track

CSKA Moscow star Ahmed Musa has asked Nigerians to be patient with the Super Eagles following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with South Africa in Nelspruit.

Musa also believes the Super Eagles are very much on track to rise to the top and rule Africa again.

‘We wanted to win, Nigerians expected us to win but this is a new team, we have some new players in the team so we need time to understand ourselves. Nigerians should keep supporting us, with time we will get back to our highest level where we ought to be.,’Musa told African football website in an interview.

Asked if he thinks the Super Eagles will rule Africa and be the toast of Nigerians again?

‘Yes, sure. Very soon we will get there. We have a lot of good quality players in Nigeria and abroad who can make Eagles to be world beaters again. We have lot of new players in the team, we need to understand ourselves and that will take time. Nigerians should be patient with the team as we will get to the top where we belong soon.’

Musa also expressed delight at captaining the Super Eagles for the first time.

‘I felt very happy to lead Eagles out in the game as the captain. It was a great honour for me to captain Nigeria’s Super Eagles, it was a dream come true. I stood in for skipper Enyeama, who was not around for this game.’
