Nasarawa United forward, Abdulrahman Bashir, has challenged his team mates to build on their impressive win against Giwa FC and improve on their position in the Nigeria Professional Football League table, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Solid Miners beat Giwa FC 3-1 in a rescheduled week three tie at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi on Wednesday.
It was the third victory of the season for Kabiru Dogo's men who finished third in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.
Despite the win, the Lafia-based outfit remain in 19th place in the NPFL table.
The former Kwara United striker who was voted man of the match in the game has however called on his side to raise their performance in subsequent games.
"The win against Giwa FC came at the right time for us," Bashir told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"The most important thing now is for us to build on that win and improve on our position in the table.
"The season is still long and we hope to beat the drop at the end of the day."
