Nigerian defender Wilfred Ndidi was on target for 10-man Genk who beat visiting Zulte-Waregem 2-1 as the second half of the Belgian league kicked off on Friday night.
It was Ndidi’s first goal of the season in 18 appearances and also his first ever goal for Genk.
The former Flying Eagles star put Genk ahead on 16 minutes but Christophe Lepoint equalized for the visitors on 31 minutes.
On 35 minutes, Derrick Tshimanga was sent off for Genk but they still went on to win thanks to Nikos Karelis’ 87th minute goal.
In the Scottish league, Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose was on for 90 minutes as Celtic defeated Dundee United 4-1 away from home.
Goals from Leigh Griffiths (brace), Kris Commons and Jozo Smonovic, gave Celtic the win. Simon Murray got Dundee’s goal.
And in a club friendly game, Olanrewaju Kayode scored in Austria Wien’s 2-2 draw against Anthony Ujah’s Werder Bremen.
Fin Bartels and Levin Mete Oztunali, gave Bremen a 2-0 lead in the seventh and 48th minutes respectively.
