New Super Eagle Adi Named In MLS Team Of The Week

New Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Adi has been named as one of the players in the official Major League Soccer Team of the Week for week 3.

The official MLS website named Adi and 10 other outstanding players in the best XI on Monday.

The 6’4 tall striker scored twice as his club Portland Timbers came from behind to draw 2-2 with Real Salt Lake on Saturday.

Adi, Portland’s top scorer last season, is in line for his senior Nigeria debut when the Eagles face Egypt in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday and Tuesday next week.

Adi has already scored three goals in three matches this new MLS season after scoring 23 in 33 regular season games last year.

Also in the Team of the Week are Philalphia Union striker CJ Sapong, who also bagged a brace over the weekend, and New England Revolution goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.
