Posted: Oct 30, 2011
Nigeria forward, Emmanuel Emenike was the star of the show, as he scored all three goals in Spartak Moscow's 3-0 win against local rivals, Locomotiv Moscow on Saturday.
The pacy hitman who linked up with Spartak from Turkish side, Fenerbache, in the summer, opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the encounter played at the 18,000 capacity Arena Khimki.
He doubled the lead in the 15th minute for the Army men with Locomotiv unable to reduce the deficit before the half time break.
Six minutes after the restart, Emenike added another one to make it three on the day.
He received a thunderous ovation from the home fans as he made way for Kirill Kombarov in the 87th minute.
The game was his seventh in the Russian Premier League and he also increased his goal tally to five.
His international teammate, Victor Obinna Nsofor who starred for Locomotive, was sent off by the centre referee in the 82nd minute.
Nsofor had earlier received a yellow card in the 80th minute before the sending off.
In England, out of favour Super Eagles forward, Yakubu Aiyegbeni was on target for Blackburn Rovers in their 3-3 draw against Norwich City.
Yakubu put Rovers 2-1 up in the 62nd minute. He got ahead of the Norwich defence line to latch on to a pass from Formica and drill the ball past John Ruddy at the near post.
It was his third of the season and he has played five times for the Rovers since his move from Everton.
