BOKO HARAM THREATENS EAGLES, ZAMBIA FRIENDLY!

Coach Renard Says Nigeria Friendly Crucial To His AFCON 2012 Preparation
Invites 17 Pros, Three Home Based Stars For Tuesday's Game In Kaduna

THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says it is keeping an ear on Nigeria ahead of next Tuesday’s international friendly against the Super Eagles.

FAZ communications manager Erick Mwanza said in an interview in Lusaka Monday with the Zambian Daily Mail that they are concerned about the violence that has rocked Nigeria.

On Sunday, over 100 people died in a series of attacks in north-east Nigeria launched by a radical Muslim sect.

The Boko Haram militant sect claimed responsibility for the attacks, one of the worst days of violence since it launched its insurgency two years ago in what it says is a campaign to impose Islamic law in Africa’s most populous country.

The attacks followed multiple bomb blasts last Friday in nearby Maiduguri, Boko Haram’s heartland.
Mwanza said they are monitoring the situation through the international media and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

“The international media and the NFF are giving us updates,” he said.

Mwanza said the NFF has assured FAZ that the military in are working towards restoring law and order.
He said FAZ attaches importance to the security of the national team.

Mwanza said if the situation gets out of hand, FAZ and the NFF will chart the way forward.

“Anything that endangers lives of the players and officials will mean us not taking the team to Nigeria,” he said.

Mwanza said at the moment there is peace in Kaduna, which is the venue for next Tuesday’s match.
Meanwhile,Zambia's national team coach Herve Renard says the international friendly against Nigeria will be crucial to Zambia’s preparations for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Renard said in Lusaka that the match against the Super Eagles will help the technical bench assess the players.

The Chipolopolo regrouped in Lusaka on Sunday to start preparations for the match against Nigeria.
Renard said defender Jimmy Chisenga of Red Arrows has been ruled out of the clash due to an injury he picked during Sunday’s Week 29 match against Nkwazi. Arrows won the tie 3-1.

Renard said midfielder Felix Katongo is out of the country and will join the team later.

“We expect Felix to join us in Johannesburg. He is somewhere in a war (Vietnam),” Renard joked.
The influential Green Buffaloes midfielder is reportedly attending trials in Asia and will be back on Thursday.

He said he is impressed with the talent he has seen among the players in camp.
Renard said 23 players reported to camp but only three will make the trip to Nigeria.

He named Thomas Nyirenda, Nyambe Mulenga and Kalililo Kakonje as the players who will be part of the team that will travel to Nigeria.

The other 17 are foreign-based players.

Boko haram cannot continue to hold us to ransom in this country as they are hungry for blood the almighty will give them their own blood for them to drink. However, what i think can be solution to this problem is for the frederal govt. to provide job for those idle cos idle mind they say is the devil's workshop since govt refuse to provide work for the youth then B.H. is now giving them killing work also football youth academy should be established in all the state & local govt and the players & their coaches should be put on salary then they will be happy to live and would not want to die but when someone is living a frustrated life he would not mind to die as long as he brings others down with him, although i will advise the nff not to take this latest threat for granted instead they should take a proactive action by taking the Zambia match to Benin which is far from the hot zone or playing it at Abuja where security is tighter cos B.H. bombing the Zambia players can cause war between Nigeria & Zambia and temporarily discourage any future foreign team from coming to Nigeria to play any match, the Benin option is better because it will provide opportunity for the use of the same logistic for both the Botswana & Zambia match.I will also advise the Nigeria Govt Security agencies to begin to raid popular joint & gathering & then repatriate all illegal immigrant from Nigeria cos we've to many people from our neighbouring country lulking around in Nigeria & such persons could be easily bought with money to go and bomb places cos they won't have the country insterest at heart like other true Nigerians.Together we stand, divided we fall! Long live Nigeria!! God bless Nigeria!!!

Southern Nigeria is under the colony of Northerners. If not,why must it be a task that eagles play their matches in the North inspite of supporter's low turned out and constant voilence that threaten many lives in the regions. Please Kaduna is not yet settle take nig-zam match to Port,Abiekuta or Enugu rather than searching for ethnic and tribal interest at the espense of protecting people's lives and the Nigeria image.
