For Botched Friendly With Super Eagles
Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, say they are making efforts to pay $200,000 to the Iran Football Federation as compensation following last November’s botched international exhibition game with the Super Eagles.
The Nigeria FA called off the scheduled friendly game, citing inability to raise a team following a mass withdrawal of players earlier listed for the game.
An obviously enraged Iran FA took the matter to FIFA, seeking compensation and with the two football federations having reached a truce on the amount to be paid, NFF Acting General Secretary, Musa Amadu said NFF is currently making concerted effort to offset the debt.
“We are trying to ensure that we sort out that matter,” stated Amadu.
“We have reached an understanding on the specific amount, and we are only trying to see how are can pay it off,” he added.
