Venlo Star Promises Three Goals, Eagles Defender Sure Of Clean Sheet

Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo and forward Ahmed Musa have declared that the Nations Cup final qualifier against Guinea on Saturday is a do-or-die match which will see Nigerians smiling at the end of the day.
Speaking after their early afternoon training session that lasted two and half hours yesterday, Taiwo said that contrary to the belief that the Eagles defence is the weakest link of the team, the defenders have done well, even coming to rescue of the team by scoring vital goals.
“We hope to protect our goal with all our might to stop the Guineans from reaching our goalkeeper or scoring a single goal while we shall push forward to ensure that the forward men pump in goals at will. To tell you the truth the Guineans are in serious trouble.
“We are very confident of winning the match and going to the Nations Cup to win the cup. I think we have the stuff to shock the continent next year by winning the cup so by the grace of God we shall beat the Syli Nationale to qualify,” the AC Milan defender told Complete Sports.
He called on the fans to aside praying for the Super Eagles victory to come out to cheer the team to victory adding that they should be patient with the team when the goals do not come in the first 15 minutes.

He added: “We shall score goals but what we don’t know is when it will come, all we want is for them to cheer us all the way.”
VVV Venlo forward Musa believes the atmosphere in the Eagles camp is so charged that everybody is looking forward to the match with revenge in their minds, adding that with the mood in camp it would be very difficult for the Syli Nationale to leave Abuja without a bag of goals
He said: “I am confident that we are going to win the match with as many as three goals to nil to show them that we are not in the level when it comes to football and to pick the ticket for the Nations Cup. We shall not allow them the luxury of making things tough for us.
“The weather will not be a problem because this is our country and we know our weather better than any other team. They should actually be the ones who should bother about the weather not us because we are going to go at them like fire from the blast of the whistle.
“Some of us in the Eagles have not been to the Nations Cup before and we don’t want to miss out by failing to beat the Guinea on Saturday. Again some of our senior colleagues are targeting winning the cup before they sign out and together we are going to fight hard to win the cup
“No matter the game plan of the Guineans, we are going to decode them and score as many goals as possible to prove that their win in Conakry was a fluke because we missed many scoring chances and they got one clear one and scored. In Abuja, it is not going to be easy for them because we shall try to convert all our scoring chances.
“If I get the nod to start the game, I would also want to register my name on the score sheet as well as create openings for my team mates. We are raring to go and in this mood nobody can stop us.”

If talking and boasting was doing, leave it, Nigeria has already qualified.
But i wander! Talking is not doing. How i wish they will convert this talking to doing.
Anyway, the way I see they are match-ready, not only combat-ready.
Truly, the Guineans will suffer come Saturday.
Super Eagles we are all behind you. Not you only, we all want to be at the Nations Cup next year.

On a good day, any Super Eagles' squad should be able to beat Guinea with relative ease, so I don't see why the so much noise. What's the big deal. If they can't beat Guinea convincingly in Nigeria, then I think posterity will not forgive them for taking our sports (football) backward in the committee of nations
