Eagles To Jet Out 11pm Monday Night To Rwanda

The Super Eagles will jet out to Kigali, Rwanda at 11pm on Monday aboard a chattered Air Nigeria Flight from Abuja.

This much was disclosed to Complete Sports by the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation,Barrister Musa Ahmadu who revealed that the late night flight was at the request of Eagles head coach,Stephen Keshi.

Complete Sports gathered that Keshi wanted the 20-man team he will be flying out with to have a tactical session in Abuja before flying out for the all-important match.

Barrister Ahmadu also revealed to Complete Sports that CAF have written the NFF to confirm the unavailability of one of the assistant referees.

'I can't tell you offhand the name of the assistant referee now but we have received a fax from CAF confirming the appointment of a new assistant referee'',he said.

Meanwhile Olympic Eagles midfield star, Nosa Igeibor says he is not losing sleep over his non-invitation for the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Rwanda in Kigali on February 29.

''There are no hard feelings. Nigeria has a world class team with a glut of experienced foreign players. Coach Stephen Keshi handed invitation to the boys who he believes can win the game, and play to his tactics in Kigali.

''I wish the Super Eagles luck against Rwanda. It's our dream to play at next year's African Cup of Nations after narrowly missing the Gabon-Equatorial tourney.

''We, the players that were not invited, our prayers are with them. I am not good at predicting games, but this time I want to stick out my neck and say they would be victorious at the end of 90 minutes,'' Igiebor, formerly with Norwegian club Lillestrom said in a report on allnigeriasoccer.

Hapoel Tel Aviv, the Israeli team of Igiebor, are battling tooth and nail with Ironi Kiryat Shoma for the league title. The Super Eagles loss is Hapoel's gain as they are happy Igiebor was not considered for selection.

''Hapoel are happy I was not called up for this game. We are at the home stretch in the Israeli Championship, and they were scared I would be fatigued after returning from international duty.

''Our main goal is to win the title at the end of the season. I was voted Most Valuable Player in the last three games played in the league,'' Igiebor said.

Nosa Igiebor has been invited seven times to the National Team, but only suited two times against Botswana and Zambia last year in Stephen Keshi's first two games as boss of the Super Eagles.
