May Boycott League Match Versus C.O.D
Unless urgent steps are taken, the Ogun State owned soccer outfit Gateway United Football Club might not honour. Its week 2 match in the Nigerian National League this weekend against City of David, C.O.D FC in Lagos.
Sources close to the club informs that the management of the team is finding it hard to raise the required fund to prosecute the match and there seems to be no hope as the State Governor Senator Amosun is not around.
According to them, the team has been having a tough time as its expenses are either badly reduced or not approved by the State Commissioner for Sports who seems not to know the nitty-gritty of how clubs are funded for league matches.
Gateway Football Club is an agency under the State Ministry of Youth and Sports and unless drastic action is taken by putting the club under the supervision of the Governor's Office the Governor's dream of ensuring that the club gained promotion to the Premier League next season may not see the light of the day.
