Returnee Super Eagles midfielder Sani Kaita played his first test game for Tavriya Simferopol in their 3-1 win over Antalyaspor last night.
Kaita who has been enmeshed in controversy over his fitness for next week’s 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Rwanda in Kigali was replaced in the 70th minute, putting to rest reported claims by his Ukrainian club and Nigerian representative,Tijani Babangida that he is nursing an injury that has sidelined him for close to two months now.
Former Flying Eagles defender, Jamiu Alimi, who was also paraded in the encounter also backed his teammate to give his best when he makes a return to the senior national team taking into consideration his recent fitness level and form.
Alimi who was on target for Tavriya in their 1-0 win over Bate Borisov last Sunday further revealed that the goal will further boost his confidence when the league resumes next month.
"The goal will boost my confidence in preparation for the second half of the season, as we aim to qualify for an Europa spot," the former Westerlo defender told Complete Sports.
“And I hope to add more goals for my team when the league starts in the first week of March," he added.
Tavriya will play host to Metalurh Donetsk when the league resumes on the 4th of March.

Mr Mafia ["Keshi"], you goofed.....I have always known you to be a mafia and you didn't dissappoint me with your list of foreign invites for Rwanda game. Kaita is injured and you still favoured him at the expense of a fit Fegor Ogude. For your information, even a 100% fit Kaita is inferior to a 70% fit Fegor. You have goofed, and 'm not surprised. I expect more horrible decisions from you in the coming months till you push yourself to your doom, just like your predecessors. You cannot expect success when your judgement is shrouded with biased decisions that only engenders failures. Rubbish Eagles!!!!; Failed Federation and a biased incompetent business-minded coach.
