Ukah Scores Versus Esperance
Posted: Feb 05, 2012
Super Eagles defender Ugochukwu Ukah helped his Polish club Widzew Lodz to secure a 1-1 draw in a friendly against African champions Esperance as part of their training tour of Tunisia.
The Italy-born Nigeria giant defender salvaged a point for his team when he scored the equaliser in 1-1 draw in the 29th minute after hosts Esperance scored on 25th minutes.
The ex-AC Parma of Italy and Queens Park Rangers defender tapped in from close range from far end of the post after a free kick was driven 30 yards out.
He was delighted with his goal and said he is ready for the resumption of the league in Poland.
“I was happy that I scored the goal that gave us a draw against Esperance, who are good side. I am ready for the league resumption and the goal shows that I can still help my team scoring goals apart from defending our goal area,” he told MTNFootball.com
“I will keep doing my best and I am also looking forward to the Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda.”
Ugo Ukah has been a transfer target in Poland as well as for Anderlecht of Belgium.
