YEKEEN PROMISES CLEAN SLATE AS KWARA CONFRONT GOMBE

Kwara United goalkeeper, Kazeem Yekeen wants to keep out the attacking duo of Gombe United, Mustapha Babadidi and Sanusi Sani from scoring.

Gombe United will play host to Kwara United at the Pantami Stadium from 4pm local time this Thursday in a Matchday 9 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) game.

Yekeen, who was one of three goalkeepers that was part of the Nigerian Under20s to the 2011 Fifa Under20 World Championship in Colombia, told SuperSport.com that he is ready to stop Babadidi and Sani.

The two Gombe United strikers are currently the joint leading scorers with six goals each.

The 19-year-old Kwara United keeper also acknowledged that while he give his best in the game, he would also need good cover from his teammates to keep the two leading scorers quiet.

"It is going to be a difficult game for us against Gombe United because they are good. They have the best two strikers in the league right now.

"But I believe I can stop them (Babadidi and Sani) from scoring against me. I will also need my teammates to do their job well (as outfield players)," the former Sokoto United goalkeeper told SuperSport.com.

Yekeen was named Kwara United's Player of the Month at the end of January for his sterling performance, which has left the club in sixth place in the NPL standings and three points behind leaders, Dolphins.
