Shooting Target Second Successive Win At Home
3SC VS KADUNA UTD.
DATE: Saturday April 21, 2012 TIME: 4PM
VENUE: Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba
For the second time this season, five-time winners of the Nigeria Premier League, Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan host an opponent at their dreaded home ground, the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba.
The Oluyole Warriors enjoyed a slim 1-0 win against Enyimba on match day 19 and entertain northern side, Kaduna United, on the same ground today hoping for an emphatic win.
The management of the club upped the players winning bonus, increasing it by one hundred percent prior to the Enyimba game and that did the magic, giving them their second win in the post Festus Allen era.
Having a good run in the second stanza of the league will be key to 3SC ambition of escaping the drop after their indifferent campaign in the first stanza and the club’s General Manager, Mutiu Adepoju is confident they can keep their status at the end of the season.
“I think we just need to continue working hard to make sure that things improve in the second round”, he begins.
“But we have to know that the performance in the first round is not what we expected. Putting many things into consideration, one would not say that from the beginning the performance was good but we saw in the last three games were different and we all can see the result.
“We are going to try our best to see that the second round is better, we just want to take it step by step ,move up first and then see where we can go.I cannot say this is where we will get to but we will do our best”, he declared.
