Eagles To Stay At 4-Star Metropolitan Hotel In Calabar

The Senior National Team, Super Eagles, will set up camp at the Metropolitan Hotel, Calabar from May 27 for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Namibia’s Brave Warriors at the U. J. Esuene Stadium on Sunday, June 3.
NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu also disclosed on Wednesday that the visiting team, Brave Warriors, will be accommodated at the Channelview Hotel in the city.
On Wednesday, the Nigeria Football Federation wrote to the Namibia Football Association to request for the Brave Warriors’ date of arrival and size of delegation. The Warriors are presently training in Germany.
The match officials, including Match Commissioner, Mr. Jammeh Bojang from The Gambia, will stay at the Axari Hotel.
Amadu said on Wednesday that the NFF is fully prepared for the Day 1 clash, from which Nigerians expect not only the three maximum points but a handsome win by the Super Eagles.
Also on Wednesday, NFF’s Director of Technical, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme flew to the Cross River State capital to firm up all arrangements for the big match.
The Referee for the match is Khalid Abdel Rahman from Sudan, a 44-year old who has been an international referee since 2001.
Assistant Referee 1, Waleed Ahmed Ali, 38, has been an international assistant referee for three years; Assistant Referee 2, Mohammed Idam Hamid, 37,has been an international assistant referee for the past two years while; Fourth Official Badr El Din Abdel Gadir, 38, has been an international referee since 2004.
Khalid Abdel Rahman was Referee when Nigeria defeated Mozambique 1-0 in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the National Stadium,Abuja on October 11, 2009.
The NFF also confirmed that the match will kick off at the U. J.Esuene Stadium at 5pm Nigeria time.
