Pillars Seek Return To Winning Ways Against In-form Wolves

KANO PILLARS VS WARRI WOLVES

VENUE : Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano
DATE : Sunday, May 27, 2012 TIME: 4.PM

Kano Pillars will seek to get their title aspiration back on track when they host in- form  Warri Wolves at the Sani Abacha Stadium this weekend. Last weekend’s  1-0 loss to Kwara United saw the Groundnut City club lost  ground on leaders Rangers but they have another opportunity to get back to winning.
It looks more likely they will achieve their objective with Rangers  on the road to Aba to face their oriental rivals, Enyimba who will enjoy massive  support from their fans but Wolves new found form may be a stumbling block for them.
Wolves have won their last three games since their exit from the Orange CAF Confederations Cup, scoring seven goals and conceding a paltry two.

They  also go into this game on the back of  a morale boosting 4-1 thrashing of Sharks in  midweek, a result which saw climb to fourth position on the log.
But the fact that the seasiders are yet to record a win on their travels this season will give Pillars the confidence to go for a win here. Baba Ganaru’s men have conceded the least number of goals at home [three] and they come up against a Wolves side who have only managed  to  hit the back of the net six times on the road and conceded 14 times.
Despite last weekend’s setback in Ilorin ,  Ganaru still has enough firepower within his squad to get the  three  maximum points at stake. In Gambo Mohammed the man who has netted nine times for his side in the current campaign, he has a forward who can unlock any defence.

There are also the duo of Rabiu Ali and Mannir Ubale who among themselves have scored 11 goals for the 2008 Nigeria Premier League Champions.
Wolves too also have quality forwardmen of their own and the game offers another opportunity for new boy Austine Amutu to show his class once more alongside the duo of Gift Atiluwa and Jude Aneke.
Handler of the side, Maurice Cooreman will decide whether to include some of his key players who just returned from international duty, with the national team or not.
