Super Eagles fringe forward, Joseph Akpala has admitted he would be delighted to play in the English Premier League next season.
The Club Brugge forward in recent days has been linked with a summer switch to clubs in the United Kingdom. West Ham, West Brom and Celtic are reportedly interested in the Nigeria international.
Akpala has told Sky Sports that there is no official contact yet from any team in England. But he is flattered to be linked with clubs in the Premier League.
''I would love to play in the Premier League one day and score goals there week in, week out. I am happy to be linked with clubs in the Premier League, but nothing has been discussed as yet.
"Brugges want to keep me and I have a contract with them. We will have to see what happens.West Ham are a London club and I like London, so you never know,'' says Akpala to Sky Sports.
Akpala has one year left before the expiration of his contract with Belgium vice champions, Club Brugge.
Akpala who is presently on holiday in Nigeria, was not included in the list of foreign based players who are to feature in Nigeria's busy Nations and World Cup qualifiers next month.
The dark complexioned forward who narrowly lost out in the race to win the coveted Ebony Award for the best African player in Belgium, last featured for the Eagles under erstwhile coach, Shaibu Amodu.
With his current form, Akpala might soon get the chance to return to the Eagles fold under new coach Stephen Keshi, who is believed to be monitoring the player's progress.
