ODUAMADI, EHIOSUN OUT OF RWANDA TIE

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will have to prosecute today’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Wasps without the duo

Goal.com can authoritatively report that the duo of Nnamdi Oduamadi and Ekigho Ehiosun as well as captain Joseph Yobo are yet to report to the Metropolitan Hotel, Calabar camp of the team since their return from Blantyre where they played a 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil qualifying match against Rwandalast weekend.

Oduamadi, Ehiosun, Izu Azuka and Fengor Ogude were dropped before departure to Malawi because they nursed injuries and were supposed to re-join the team in Calabar.
However, two days after arrival in Calabar, Oduamadi and Ehiosun are yet to join the team ruling them out of the game on Saturday.
Another player who is doubtful for Saturday’s encounter is captain Yobo.
Yobo copped an injury playing for his club Fernabahce but turned up in Calabar two weeks ago saying he will be ready for the match against Rwanda.

However, Stephen Keshi says his captain will not play against the Wasps on Saturday.
“He’s still undergoing treatment in Lagos. We spoke just as we arrived from Malawi but with the extent of the injury I seriously doubt he can make it for the game,” Keshi said.
“This is why we should thank the players who played in his stead for the good job they did. If we were not grooming these home based players, we would have probably been in trouble with the captain’s absence.
“We need you the media to educate Nigerians on the need for these younger boys to be in the team and I believe they have done an awesome job so far.”
