RAHEEM LAWAL: WE’RE NOT UNDER PRESSURE

Super Eagles midfielder, Raheem Lawal, has told Complete Sports that the team is under no pressure going into Saturday’s crucial return leg match against Rwanda in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Lawal who made his senior debut in the Super Eagles 1-0 defeat away to Peru after coming on for Kalu Uche told Complete sports that they have put behind the game against Malawi in Blantyre which ended one goal apiece, saying the team is now poised for the coming game against Rwanda.

“We can only take the games one after the other. We have put behind the Malawi game so right now what we are focusing on is the match against Rwanda,” the Atletico Belarense midfielder said.

“The spirit in our camp at the moment is high, getting a good result that can take us to the next stage of the competition is the only thing occupying our minds right now.

“Nigerians want us to win, they are concerned about us winning the game so it should be seen as putting us under pressure at all,” Lawal added.

Lawal further disclosed that it is a great feeling playing for the senior national team, adding that playing under Coach Stephen Keshi has added something positive to his career.

“Every player aspires to play for his national team. For me, it is quite an experience especially having to play under such a great coach like Stephen Keshi.

“We get to learn every day and I must tell you that coming here has added something to my career.”
