Enyimba Seek End To Losing Streaks
Eguavoen Upbeat On Title Ambition
ENYIMBA VS SUNSHINE
VENUE: Aba Township Stadium
DATE: Sunday 10, 2012 TIME: 4PM
Two successive away defeats against Warri Wolves and Sharks have seen them slip to third on the NPL log but they have another opportunity to get back to winnings ways when they host Sunshine Stars this weekend.
Technical Adviser of the People Elephants has spoken of his desire to help his side lift their seventh title and it is victory or nothing for them in this tie.
Enyimba defeated Sunshine Stars 4-0 at the Aba Township stadium last season and were unlucky to have earned only a point at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode in the first meeting between the two sides this season.
While the Aba based side has also improved immensely under Eguavoen this season, Sunshine Stars have struggled to replicate last season’s form with no realistic hope of challenging for the title.
However, Eguavoen has chosen to treat the Akure Gunners with respect while also rallying his charges to go all out for victory.
“Sunshine Stars are playing in the continent and that tells you that they are a top side”, began the former Super Eagles coach.
“They deserve respect but we are going all out for a win against them. Losing against Warri Wolves and Sharks was difficult for us, but we have another opportunity to put things right once again.
“We had a good game against them in Ijebu Ode earlier in the season and we hope to do much better this time around,” he declared.
