Rangers Renew Double Title Target

As Federation Cup Top 16 Teams Emerge

Rangers International of Enugu believe they have all it takes to make a clean sweep of domestic silverwares this term.

The Coal City Flying Antelopes are top on the Premier League summit with the hope of plucking their first league trophy in 28 years.

Over the weekend, the Antelopes booked their place in the group stage of the 2012 Federation cup after a 2-1 win over JUTH of Jos at the Katsina-Ala Stadium.

A delighted Innocent Abana, Manager of the club told Complete Sports that they will give the two competitions equal attention with the possibility of winning the two trophies if the opportunity presents itself.

“Why not, if the opportunity call for us to win the two trophies we are ready to welcome it”, Abana said proudly.

“That we have reached this stage of the two competitions is down to God’s doing so we on our side will do our best to reap whatever fruits God places in front of us.

“We are going to give the two competitions equal attention. There is no scale of preference in this one because it has been pretty long we won any of the two trophies and if we are to return to winning ways by emerging double champions, so be it as far as it is the will of God for us to win”.

Rangers FC is among the 16 teams that have qualified for the group stage of the 2012 Federation Cup after the conclusion of Round of 32 games over the weekend.

The list include nine Premier League teams, Rangers, Enyimba, Heartland, Sharks, Lobi, Kwara United, Warri Wolves, Gombe United and Kano Pillars.

Five Nigeria National League, NNL teams also made it to the last 16. They include Plateau United, El-Kanemi Warriors, Nasarawa United, Prime FC and Crown FC.

Samba FC and Dynamite Fc are the only rookie teams that the group stage of the competition which draws is yet to be made by the NFF.
