Etuhu Targets Promotion With Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers’ latest signing Dickson Etuhu is relishing the challenge of getting the club promoted back to the Premier League.

Nigerian midfielder Etuhu may have sacrificed top-flight football for the goal of gaining promotion, but it was  a decision that the 30-year-old felt was an easy one to make.

Speaking for the first time since his £1.5m arrival from Fulham, Etuhu said: "Blackburn were interested in me in January as well, so when I heard about their interest again I wanted to listen to the plans of the club and where they wanted to go.

"I spoke to the manager, he told me his plans, of how he wants to play and the direction he wants to take the club.
"Once I heard of the ambition that the club has it was a no-brainer for me."

After five years with Fulham the Nigerian felt that now was the right time to try a new challenge.

"After playing for Fulham for so many years, I had some great years there, I felt it was time to move on," added Dickson.

"I wanted something different and this is exciting to me, coming to a big club like this in the Championship, there are some quality players so I thought it would be good to be part of that.

"It is a nice feeling to be back in the North West and I'm looking forward to it.”
