National U20 team, Flying Eagles came from behind to post a 2-1 victory over Kwara United Sunday at the Ilorin Township Stadium in a tune up game.
After a scoreless first half, Kabiru Sanusi handed the Premier League side the lead when he converted a 50th minute penalty.
New invitee and Sharks talisman, Bright Ejike drew level for the John Obuh led national U20 team in the 58th minute.
Abduljeleel Ajagun sealed victory for the African Champions after scoring from the spot kick four minutes past the hour mark.
Coach John Obuh was pleased with his team’s performance.
“They two teams played well but I must congratulate my players for rising to the challenge especially coming from a goal down”, Obuh said.
Flying Eagles will tomorrow (Tuesday) play another friendly match at the same venue with Nigeria National League, NNL side, Prime of Osogbo.
“We are building up ahead of the AYC return leg qualifying game against Tanzania this weekend.
“It’s a crucial match for us so we want to keep the boys in good shape and involving them in such friendly matches is one way we can keep them in shape for the AYC game”, Obuh told Complete Sports.
