Oboabona Aso Chlef Down, Esperance Next

Sunshine Stars of Akure captain and Super Eagles defender, Godfery Oboabona, has told Complete Sports that determination, commitment and communication were the determining factors in their historic 2-1 win over hosts ASO Chlef of Algeria in Friday night's CAF Champions League cracker.
"We were determined to win, we were also committed and communicated with each other on the field because we needed the three points if we must progress in the competition," Oboabona explained.
"We knew what we wanted and we went straight for it. We were ready to lay our lives on the pitch if that was the only route to victory and we are happy that we got the result we wanted."
The victory in Chlef puts the Nigeria Premier League runners-up in second position with seven points behind leaders Esperance.
And with the September 2 Matchday 5 fixture against the title holders looming, Oboabona enthused that it will be payback time for the North Africans who earned a shock 2-0 win in Ijebu Ode in the first group match.
"We’re going there to show them that we have what it takes to revenge that defeat in Ijebu-Ode and we will surely do that,” he boasted.
"Nigeria is too big a country for a visiting team to come and pick victory just like that. At that time we were not fully settled. We paid them too much respect but this time we are prepared to fight them real hard.”
