RUBIN READY TO OFF LOAD MARTINS

Russian side,Rubin Kazan are ready to off-load Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins after securing the services of Malaga's hitman, Salomon Rondon, on a four-year deal, Sports.ru reports.

Rubin are prepared to allow the former Inter Milan striker who will become a free agent next summer leave the club for a reported fee of £3million before the transfer window closes later this month.

The club are looking to recoup around £3million from the outright sale of the former Newcastle player rather than allowing him to move away on loan.

It would be recalled that West Bromwich Albion recently made inquiries about the former Wolfsburg striker with a view to landing him on loan, but it is understood that his wage demands of around £40,000 a week proved a stumbling block.

The former Birmingham striker who is yet to feature for the Super Eagles under coach Stephen Keshi is however optimistic of returning to the Eagles soon in a recent interview.

"I think Stephen Keshi is doing a good job and I’m doing my own job for my team as well. When they ’re ready to call me, they ’ll call me.

. I don’t have to fight or kill myself to play for the national team because I was there already and I have a good profile. So, when they’re ready to call me again, I’m ready to play for my country," he concluded.
