Lobi Set To Rule Nigeria
Nigeria Premier League rave-of-the-moment, Tony Okpotu, insists nothing will stand in the way of Lobi Stars’ title ambitions this term.
The youngster scored a brace as Lobi ensured Enugu Rangers dropped from the first position on the log, after a 3-0 victory at home which sent their fans into cloud nine.
Jonah Abutu was also on the score sheet in the Matchday 37 tie decided at Katsina-Ala, on Wednesday.
Lobi have Okpotu to thank
this term, as he has emerged as the club’s top scorer with eight goals.
The forward had scored in his team’s last two matches against Sunshine Stars and Dolphins respectively.
Dominic Iorfa’s side changed the course of the NPL title chase following their shock 2-0 road trip victory at champions, Dolphins.
“I’m so hungry and there’s no team that can stop us now. We have not lost hope and scoring two goals against Rangers has made me a happy player. At this stage, we just have to be confident,”
Okpotu has since justified the decision of Iorfa to promote him from the club’s youth side last term.
Nigeria’s Under-20 Manager, John Obuh, has since added the forward to his squad.
