Nasarawa United will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season after the Appeals Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation overturned the decision of its Organising and Disciplinary Committee which earlier ruled that the week 38 fixture between them and Giwa FC should continue from it stopped, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The encounter at the Lafia Township Stadium was called off in the 36th minute by the centre referee after Giwa FC players refused to continue with the match following the sending off of two of their players, Nojeem Raji and Amos Gyan.
Nasarawa United were leading 2-0 at the time of the incident.
The League Management Company subsequently awarded the game to Nasarawa United, but Giwa FC appealed the decision and the O and D committee of the NFF ordered that the game should continue from the 36th minute.
With the decision, the Solid Miners will compete in the competition alongside Federation Cup winners, Akwa United.
Champions Enyimba and second placed Warri Wolves will represent the country in the more prestigious CAF Champions League.
