The national Under-23 team under the tutelage of Samson Siasia will qualify for and do well at next year’s Brazil Olympic Games, President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has said.
Chatting with the media in Abuja on Tuesday, Pinnick stated that Siasia has been doing a wonderful job and that the NFF are satisfied with his handling of the team.
“Siasia is doing well and he is in line with our philosophy of moving the game forward,” Pinnick said. “We trust Siasia to lead the Under-23s to the Olympic Games because he is the best man for the job. He has proved over the years that he is good at age-grade competitions.”
On the match against Congo in Port Harcourt, Pinnick expressed confidence that Nigeria will win, adding that the NFF and Rivers State government have given them all the needed support to succeed.
He also expects the Super Falcons to overcome their Equatoria Guinea counterparts and move to the final round of the Brazil Olympic Games qualifiers, noting that the NFF will give equal treatment to both teams.
