NFF Plan Testimonial For Enyeama

By Adeboye Amosu:

Vincent Enyeama will get a heroic exit from the Super Eagles despite his recent falling out with head coach of the side, Sunday Oliseh, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.

The Lille of France goalie left the Super Eagles camp in Belgium angrily on Thursday due to the ugly row with Oliseh, but returned on Saturday for crucial talks with top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation.

At the meeting was the President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick, as well as the two Vice-Presidents, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko.
Pinnick told the NFF official website that Enyeama has served the nation so well in the last 13 years and that if he is determined to quit international football, he must not do so in situation of acrimony.

“I told him that he did so well for Nigeria over the past 13 and half years that he had been there, and by all means, is deserving of a honourable exit.

”What ever the situation, whether he decides to return to the team or not, the NFF will organise a testimonial match in his honour because he served the nation so well.

“However, the head coach is in full charge of the team and the camp at all times , and that fact must be respected.
“The NFF will support and respect the decision of the head coach of any of the national teams at all times.
“Both Oliseh and Enyeama are true heroes of Nigeria football if you look at what they have achieved at different times.”

  1. This is what I’m talking about! A good leader would never say that! NFF plan what? NFF Plan “Testimonial For Enyeama”, are you guys kidding or what? Because Enyeama said “safety first and Kaduna wasn’t the right place to played a game”. Since then, he became the NFF enemy. NFF used Coach Olishe to kicked out our hero Enyeama. Hmm, the only way NFF and coach Olishe can see our happiness and prayer is, we want captain Enyeama back into the team and handling over his captain band to mr. Enyeama and Musa should be his assistant captain. Then, there will be peace and unity between we fans, Coach Olishe and NFF. God bless Nigeria!

  2. Omo9ja, I would agree with you 100% but just that after reading the interview from Oliseh, I came to agree that Enyeama wants to retire from international football. For me it is a good and wise decision as it is coming from him. We all love and celebrate Enyeama, we would love he continues as El-Rufai. Reports have always had it that Enyeama wants to retire. I would personally beg him to continue, he's still young and useful to SE. Considering the testimonial match and appeal from us the fans that he continues are his decision to make. If he comes out today to say he's going to play on, and whether or not he  is retained the captain of SE, we Nigerians and Africans who love him will celebrate his continuation. Since he is sincere to acknowledge how much we the fans like him, he may be humble to continue playing for our sake. Truly we love him.

Considering the rift between him and the NFF I would say Pinnick has done well to have put that issue behind and maturely thought of putting up this match for Enyeama.

Considering Enyeama and Oliseh, I would say, both persons should learn how to manage success, respect each other and celebrate one another in dignifying and disciplined ways. These two people did well for Nigeria, they ought to have thought together and celebrate each other. Even if Enyeama truly spoke consistently of retiring against Oliseh's request, the latter should have have indoor meeting with Enyeam and asked him to suggest at least three persons to succeed him as captain. Oliseh would have then made his choice even outside of the probable three Enyeama would have indicated. My bottom line point is NIGERIANS MUST LEARN TO CELEBRATE AND MANAGE SUCCESS than allow whims and caprices to destroy the fruits of our labor.
