By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
Nigeria Football Federation have refuted reports quoting coach Sunday Oliseh that he spent his personal money to the tune of $4,000 to feed players of the Super Eagles in their training in Pretoria, South Africa.
Completesportsnigeria.com reports that the NFF has also wired Oliseh a query to explain why the team crashed out early from the African Nations Championship in the first round and why he chose to embarrass his employers with his comments after the loss to Guinea.
Oliseh had blamed lack of motivation for the Super Eagles exit in the first round of the on going African Nations Championship in Rwanda and that he spent his money to feed the players before they flew to Kigali from South Africa.
But General Secretary of NFF, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, in reaction said: “It is not true that Oliseh spent his hard earned $4,000 to feed the team in their Pretoria camp before CHAN. We are not aware of that.
“We paid for their camping at the South African High Performance training centre in Pretoria and this also covered lodging and feeding for the two weeks the team spent there. We had no report from the centre of not feeding them properly, so how did he spend his money to feed the team?”
He expressed disappointment with Oliseh for making careless comments, adding that it is true the federatIon is facing financial difficulties but that it had not reached the stage where the coach is left to feed the players with his money.SINGLE GUYS MUST READ THIS: 5 Things You Should NEVER Do When Meeting A GIRL YOU LIKE For The First Time If You EVER Want To DATE HER.
