NFF Query Oliseh, Refute Claims He Spent $4k On Players

By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:

Nigeria Football Federation have refuted reports quoting coach Sunday Oliseh that he spent his personal money to the tune of $4,000 to feed players of the Super Eagles in their training in Pretoria, South Africa. reports that the NFF has also wired Oliseh a query to explain why the team crashed out early from the African Nations Championship in the first round and why he chose to embarrass his employers with his comments after the loss to Guinea.

Oliseh had blamed lack of motivation for the Super Eagles exit in the first round of the on going African Nations Championship in Rwanda and that he spent his money to feed the players before they flew to Kigali from South Africa.

But General Secretary of NFF, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, in reaction said: “It is not true that Oliseh spent his hard earned $4,000 to feed the team in their Pretoria camp before CHAN. We are not aware of that.

“We paid for their camping at the South African High Performance training centre in Pretoria and this also covered lodging and feeding for the two weeks the team spent there. We had no report from the centre of not feeding them properly, so how did he spend his money to feed the team?”

  1. Oliseh really gave a silly reason for the Eagles' early exit calling it  "moral issue." Whatever that means. Now the query. I hope the answer will be published. As for the 4k$, the players themselves comfirmed it and NFF has not given the boys their allowances and salary. This confirm what the secretary said in the article that NFF is facing some "financial difficulties." Is this the end of the NFF-Oliseh honeymoon? Will Oliseh be Keshi-lise? I have my fear that it is reality time to know the real NFF, Oliseh. Keshi try o is what Oliseh will soon be singing. The NFF will soon show its ruthlessness and who can withstand it? Oliseh should quickly contact Keshi to learn how to navigate this NFF rough river. Kishi is a NFF standoff guru.

I have said it time without number that Olise is not a good material for super eagles as a coash.  There is difference between coaching with degree qualification and practical coaching.  It is certain that the wost is yet to come with Olise still in charge of super eagles.  Wait until they crash out of the African Nations qualification and World cup qualifier, I'm sure by then the NFF will now fire him, only that the harm would have been completely done.

  3. We must get the fact straight. I was never enthusiastic when olise was giving the super Eagles job. But at the same time, he was given the opportunity. It wasn’t too bad. I must call a spade, a spade and not a big eating spoon—Olise was not rife for the job. He needed to grow in the field. Even if the boys were hungry, let me ask were they also hungry in RWANDA? IF they were hungry what has has he done or what did he do to build his team in a robust force formidable to get to the semi….. Olise failed woefully. Let him take the blame….. He has not done enough. Even if such happened, he shouldn’t have said it openly…. His arrogance in his youth is still prevail against him. He doesn’t have the know – how to manage sensitive issues… I just hope someone out there perceives the fact stated here in……
