The Confederation of African Football have fixed Friday, March 25 as the new date for the first leg of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying fixture between Nigeria and Egypt, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The continental football govering body had earlier turned down a request by the Nigeria Football Federation to shift the game to Saturday, March 26 from the original March 23.
CAF rejected the NFF request on the basis that the March 26 date will not be conducive for the two countries to travel and rest before the second leg.
It ordered the NFF to revert to the earlier date or pick another date earlier than March 26.
Completesportsnigeria.com scooped from a reliable source in the Federation that the dispute over the date has now been resolved and the game will now be played on March 25.
Egypt currently top Group G of the AFCON qualifiers with six points, two ahead of Nigeria.
Tanzania and Chad are the other two teams in the Group.
