Aruna Quadri lived up to his rating in global table tennis when he engineered team Nigeria 's fightback to win the gold medal in the men's table tennis event of the on-going 11th All Africa Games here in Congo Brazzaville.
The Egyptians who won the women's gold medal at the expense of their Nigerian counterparts, won the first set but Segun Toriola restored parity for Nigeria when he dumped his opponent 3-1.
That set the stage for Africa number-1, Aruna Quadri to offset his bitter rival, Mohammed Umar to hand Nigeria the gold medal.
The victory qualifies Nigeria for the 2016 Olympics.
