Frank Lampard will NOT get the hero’s welcome from Chelsea officials like other club legends.
Lampard, who joined title rivals Manchester City on a permanent deal for this season, makes his Stamford Bridge return on Saturday.
But there are no plans for a pre-match presentation for Lamps like there was for Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba.
Ballack returned with Bayer Leverkusen in 2011 and was given a silver platter by chairman Bruce Buck before kick-off.
Then last season Didier Drogba’s emotional return with Galatasaray was marked with a silver boot being presented by then-chief exec Ron Gourlay.
Lamps has as many Premier League titles as Drogba and more trophies than Ballack but is not expected to be given anything official from the club.
There is still fallout among fans for Lampard joining City, with the deal announced as a loan from New York City
It has emerged that he signed on a year-long deal and Saturday’s clash is the first since it became public.
