No More Eagles Call-Ups For Haruna

By Johnny Edward In Dar es Salaam:

Lukman Haruna may have pla‎yed his last game for the Super Eagles despite returning from a five-year exile in the lucky draw against Tanzania in here in Dar Es Salaam.

The Anzhi star was hauled off after 35 minutes for Sylvester Igboun after posting a lethagic performance ‎in the encounter that saw the Eagles fail to make an attempt at goal‎.

“He’s off the team. No more call-ups for him,” a top Nigerian Football Federation official fumed in a gathering here in Dar es Salaam, where Completesportsnigeria.com was in attendance.

“The good thing about this game is the calmness of Carl Ikeme in goal and if not for those attributes we would have paid dearly for the poor performance.

“‎That s good competition for Enyeama that’s if he gets a look-in in subsequent games.”

Also doubtful for a another call-up is Emmanuel Emenike.

  1. super eagles lack cohesion ,ideas . Sunday oliseh did well by removin haruna but emenike should have stay he is only player pushing de attach pls our old players should return victor moses, brown ideye, ike uche ,osaze and new players iheanacho ,and some under 20and 23 players

  2. Stupid NFF and Oliseh… You guys are only seeking for someone to take the fall….
Haruna was the most sensible Nigerian midfielder on the pitch before he was hauled off… what dis Sylvester Igbohun play?; what did Simon Moses play – he couldn’t even complete a dribble; what about the ineffective Obiora Nwankwo – the only good thing in a rather dour game was the performance of Carl Ikeme and Kennethe Omeruo.

Oliseh will take us no where….

A lot more was xpekted ov Haruna bkoz ov his ability n xperience, but as mostly often,he simply didn’t com 2 d party.though ov d players didn’t either. Spot on Oliseh. Plz bring bak our best legs. We r a lot berrer than this.

  5. The game is very poor I thought if we had up to three attempt on goal. My problem is we are back to the same issues d team had under keshi (making use of players dat u will say 2moro u made him), on paper good line, bt substitution very poor. Haruna yes pull off bt instead of brngin anoda creativ midfielder he opts 4a striker cum winger 2operate dat role wen u hv natural creativ midfielder in Rabiu Ibrahim on d bench as well undress Taraba utd midfielder Usman Muhammed whom now has been denied of d AAG. Oliseh failed in understanding that dey is a gap b/w its midfield nd attack cos d creatv player in midfield wasn’t in d party. thumbs up for Carl Ikeme I wasn’t surprise at all with his performance. He was d only different oliseh has brought into this team. I still wonder again! our selection of players in our national team. The only living midfielder on d field was Nwankwo Obiora, who is Izunna Uzochukwu? na wa ooh. oliseh came with his campaign speech of “if you are not playing regularly@ ur club u can’t make my team” yet he brought us lazy and sluggish players into the team. well every coach with his own players.

Now Oliseh will know that coaching is not same as sitting on supersports and be criticizing Keshi and the rest. I thought he will score Tanzania 5-0. Hmm, football is not mouth, anyway i believe he will stop talking now and stay focus and build a good team. Thank God we didn’t lose.

Football is not easy and coaching is not easy too. Well let’s jst pray so dat God will help us, let 9ija try a home base coach and let’s try our home base players there will be willing 2 make name xo dere will play well. But our big boys will jst go dere cos of money.

  10. @Marshal na true you talk. Oliseh will always give good Supersport analyses. Writes wonderful blogs on his website and Supersport blog. He will pose one kind like that on the chair overwhelming all the other analyst and then FIFA recognise him. I heard or I read that it was a FIFA member that call PINNICK ‘s attention to Oliseh, if not they were going for a foreign coach. Pinnick took it hook, line and sink. Now it is reality time. This is a simple case to repair. Swallow your pride and seek for the advice of KESHI. He will give that advice. If Mikel was in that midfield, Emenike or Musa would have scored. The Uche brothers would have done better. Invite Oghalo, Echiejile, Moses and Onazi now. Forget about blending first. That will be after the Nig vs Niger match but for now it is fire o the mountain run run run . A footballer is a footballer anytime. We just hope Chad beat or draw with Egypt but my bet is on Egypt beating Chad. After hearing our draw with Tanzania? They may even be full of confidence of beating us silly with our dismal display in Tanzania. A radical change is needed becos it is a terminal disease we have now. Where is Imoh Ezekiel. Goodness me. Oliseh should wake up and open his eyes the tom and Jerry way o.

  11. We need to provide a very mobile midfield manned by the Sunday MBAs,igiebor,Onazi or even mikel…we know mikel has his lapses but we truth be told we missed his touches yesterday.experience is everything

  12. If Oliseh really want to succeed he should do the right thing by bring in Sunday Mba, Ideye Brown and Mikel to the midfield, both player are match winners, they should not be taken for grant, even if Mba is playing in lower league, he should be considered, the reason why Keshi failed is because he fails to utilize the team that made him champion. i hope oliseh should start to do the right thing now that its clear that this same team cannot beat Egypt in Cairo.

oliseh shuld nw add our old players in his squad despite wot went wrg b/w dem xo dat victory will be ours

Talk is cheap on Super sports seat. Reality beckons. 20mins, Coat off. 30mins, squatting like “who wan shit?”.

Haruna? Good riddance to bad rubbish!!

Heir Carl Ikeme, Crown prince of Enyeama’s Kingdom. That’s the only good thing about that team

  15. CALL UP OBAFEMI MARTINS. HE IS THE ONLY GOAL SCORER FOR 9JA.

  16. Hmmm… truth be told… we missed players like Mikel obi, ogenyi onazi, elderson echiejile, victor moses, brown ideye, peter osaze, obafemi martins and Uche brothers…

  17. For me super Eagles were simply scared of d Tanzanian. Our front line nd midfield were very very slow nd lack ideas. No any form of seriousness on d part of d players. Does it means we cannot produce fast nd quick players anymor? We still need Victor Moses, Sunday mba, iheanacho nd even Awoniyi. Note, we have 2 giv Olisa tim 2 build us a team.

  18. Damilare aluko or whatever you are called. If you dare utter my name again, u will be accursed back use I never mentioned your name. I spoke freely and I expect you to do the same if you are sand

Keshi has finally been vindicated. The job is not easy for anybody, Super Eagles is my number one team. So I must support the team whoever is in charge, but please Oliseh stop disrespecting Keshi because he is not your mate in every side you want to take it. I will tell you this in your face also. You never see Keshi running down people when he was not the coach of Eages, but rather seek for job elsewhere but when the job was given to him(Keshi) all of you became jealous and ganged up against him, all the former stars. Yet this same Keshi won the African Cup of Nations and got to the second round at the world cup which non of them has ever achieved, please lets learn to respect people and always support others when we are not the one in charge.

  20. oliseh should learn to link d midfield with d attack. In dat game, three attackers attacking without support from midfield. Our fullbacks has not even d slightest sense of attack. Every body just stayed in his position as if it wasnt football.midfielders not crossing d midfield circle 2 support attack, how will d goals come. Are d attackers magicians?, 3 or 2 or even 1 attacker against as many tanzanians falling back 2 defend without midfield support from eagles. OLISEH solve ur problem, this is not punditory.!!!!

  21. My Fellow Nigerians, can I have a word with you all? First, we need to exercise patients! Second, “No courage without fear.” It takes a lot of courage to keep on moving because winners never quit and quitters never win…don’t shy of defeat rise up learn from it, that was exact what coach Sunday Olishe did in yesterday’s match. Let’s wait and see what the coach is going to do on Tuesday against Niger. Then, we can start talking but for now, no clue because this is a new team entirely. God bless Nigeria!

  22. We don’t need players like haruna in our team.

Not calling up Odion Ighalo is what Sunday Oliseh and the NFF are paying for….and the injury suffered by Joel Obi extract from the attacking midfield fluidity..

  24. Reply Post By onasanya pozho

Dats what Oliseh and the NFF got for not inviting Odion Ighal, though the injury of Joel Obi cost more problem in the midfield.

  25. Thank God,we dint play Egypt…cuz if we had to play Egypt before Tanzania with this squad, our woes could ve started from Cairo

Let’s give Oliseh a little time to get it right, We Nigerian used to crucified.
Oliseh needs our support and he will get it done.
People that appointed Oliseh known him well. In a short time Nigeria football would be a toast.

  27. Olishe, u are getting it roung, with d way u are going u are not even quailify to coach a primary school piples. we are in a hurt sit we don't need a testing of any players. Get our good guy like Moses, Matins, Ike, oseze and the two Obis forget about building a new team not now let be after the qualifers not now please. Remember, if get this guy and u qualify u will reconized. Please do the right thing at the right time. nigerians are not happy.
