Rivers United have a chance to close the gap on leaders Enugu Rangers when they face El-Kanemi Warriors in a Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 30 fixture in Maiduguri on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Stanley Eguma's men who sit in the third position in the table with 44 points will move within a point of Rangers should they win the tie.
The Flying Antelopes and second placed Wikki Tourists are not in action this weekend following the postponement of their matches due to the involvement of some of their players with the NPFL All- Stars side that is preparing for the La Liga tour.
The hosts are yet to drop a point since their return to the El-Kanemi Stadium and the Pride of Rivers must be at their best if they want to dent that record.
Also on Saturday, Sunshine Stars will look to continue their rise up the table when hey entertain Niger Tornadoes in Akure.
Tornadoes are the only side yet to pick a point on the road in the NPFL this season.
In Umuahia, home side Abia Warriors will keep a date with Akwa United.
Kennedy Boboye's men who are in the 15th position and have won only one of their last six games must secure maximum points in the game to boost their survival hopes.
At the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos, Plateau United will confront FC IfeanyiUbah, while Heartland will also do battle with Nasarawa United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
In the only game billed for Sunday, basement side Ikorodu United and Shooting Stars will clash at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
