Wikki Tourists have toppled Enugu Rangers at the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League following a 2-0 home win against Abia Warriors on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu by Lobi Stars.
Both sides have 47 points each, but Wikki have a superior goals difference.
At the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, Ibrahim Alhassan and Godwin Obaje scored for Wikki as they ended their four-game winless run.
Obaje now tops the scorers chart with 14 goals.
In Enugu, Ocheme Edoh put Rangers ahead on 23 minutes, while Kingsley Eduwo equalised for the visitors in the 62nd minute.
Sunshine Stars dented Rivers United’s title hopes, inflicting a 1-0 defeat on Stanley Eguma’s men.
Dele Olorundare scored the winner off a 35-yard free-kick three minutes before the break.
Kano Pillars recorded a slim 1-0 win against MFM FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium with Gambo Mohammed scoring the winner in the 61st minute.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Shooting Stars boosted their survival hopes following a resounding 3-1 win against visiting Niger Tornadoes.
Tayo Adebogun opened scoring for the Oluyole Warlors in the 25th minutes, while Sunday Adetunji grabbed a brace in the 32nd and 37th minutes.
Mustahpha Ibrahim grabbed Tornadoes’ consolation goal 10 minutes before the end of the game.
Heartland’s hopes of surviving the drop suffered a hitch as they were held to a barren draw by Oriental rivals FC IfeanyiUbah at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
