Wikki Tourists striker, Godwin Obaje, hopes he will get the chance to fulfill his long-term ambition by making his debut for the Super Eagles in Sunday's 2018 World Cup qualifying fixture against Zambia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 19-year-old who finished as the Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer with 18 goals in the just concluded season is in line to make his international debut against the Chipolopolo after he was called up by Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr as replacement for the injured Watford forward, Isaac Success.
And Obaje, who two years ago was playing in the Nigeria's second tier the Nigeria National League with JUTH FC, is keen to wear the green and white colours of Nigeria for the first time in a competitive game after playing in Wednesday's friendly against Plateau United.
"One of the most important things for every footballer is to play for one's country and as a little little boy, that was one of my biggest ambitions," the striker told Completesportsnigeria.com on the eve of Super Eagles' departure for Ndola.
"I'm delighted with the opportunity to be part of the team and it will be great to play my first competitive game for the Super Eagles.
"I have enjoyed the experience of training and mixing up with the senior players in the team.
"The coach has the final say on who starts or play in the game.We are one big family and we are ready to support each other as it is not about any individual but the team.''Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
