Austin Obaroakpo is disappointed he won't be part of Nigeria's Home Eagles' opening game against Niger at the African Nations Championship, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The centre-back is suspended for the game after picking two yellow cards fromthe two-legged qualifier against Burkina Faso.
Obaroakpo's absence will come as a blow to the Eagles as he is the most reliable central defender in the team.
The Abia Warriors player told Completesportsnigeria.com he was sad he will not take part in the game, but will trust his colleagues to cope well in his absence.
"It's disappointing that I won't be out there to help the team in the first game against Niger, but I trust my team mates to do well out there," Obaroakpo told Completesportsnigeria.com.com.
"It's important for us to do well in the first game and not disappoint our fans back home.
"I'm looking forward to getting back to the team in the second group
game against Tunisia."
