Obiozor Happy To End Enyimba’s Enugu Drought

By Adeboye Amosu:

Enyimba forward Christain Obiozor is delighted to see his side end their eight-year barren run at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium following a 2-1 win against their rivals, Rangers, on Sunday.

Obiozor helped his side beat their hosts for the first time at the venue since 2007 by converting a spot kick in the 52 minute.

The win ensured the People’s Elephant kept in competition for the top with Sunshine Stars who also beat Taraba United 2-1.

Obiozor told Completesportsnigeria.com that he was happy with the win which put his side in good position to challenge for a record seventh league title.

“We are happy with the win which incidentally was against one of our Oriental rivals,” Obiozo told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“Few people gave us a chance to beat Rangers in Enugu because we had a poor record against them in Enugu, but we were determined to prove them wrong and that was what we did.

“This win will surely motivate us for the task ahead, and we believe now that we can win the league.”
