Nigeria international Godfrey Oboabona believes Rizespor will escape relegation at the end of the season according to AfricanFootball.com.
“I am happy and thank God that I have been doing well since I return from injury. I believe that my team will not be relegated at the end of the season. We will keep working hard to achieve that. I am sure we will,” Oboabona said.
Rizespor have only lost two out of their last five games and have shown signs of improvement under new manager Hikmet Karaman but still find themselves in the relegation zone.
Oboabona spent most of December and the whole of January out injured but has since recovered and played in Rizespor’s last two league games.
The 24-year-old joined Rizespor from Nigerian outfit Sunshine in 2013 and has two-years left on his contract.
The Black Sea based side are in 16th place in the Süper Lig with 17 points from 19 games this season.
Rizespor take on Mersin Idman Yurdu at the Yeni Rize stadium on Sunday 15 February 2015.
Oboabona has a total of two goals and one assists in 15 appearances for Rizespor in all competitions this season.
