Osaze Odemwingie has heaped plaudits on Nigerian-born newly crowned British Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua, over his victory against Dillian Whyte at the O2 Arena on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Joshua knocked out Whyte in the seventh round of their title fight on Saturday night, with the latter suffering his first defeat in 17 bouts.
And Stoke forward Odemwingie took to Twitter to pay tribute to the 26-year-old Olympic champion who extended his perfect knockout record as a professional to 15-0.
“Naija boy. Wow was a better fight than I thought it will be. Congrats to AJ and DW was very good too,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.
Joshua, who was born to a Nigerian mother and a British father of Nigerian/Irish descent, is also the Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion.
