Stoke City forward Osaze Odemwingie has slammed Chelsea for sacking Jose Mourinho despite the Potuguese manager’s run of poor results in the Premier League this season.
Odemwingie who is expected to return to action next month admitted that the ex-Chelsea boss paid the price for keeping faith with the players that helped win the Premier League title for a fourth time in the club’s history.
The 33-year-old Nigerian international added that most of the players in Chelsea’s current squad were not the same at the start of the season.
“JM sacked? He didn’t bring new players in to show respect to all who became champions. Most players not same but he pays. IMO (in my opinion) mistake,” Odemwingie wrote via his handle @OdemwingieP.
The Blues are currently 16th on the log just a point above the relegation zone.
