Nigerian defender, Michael Odibe, is delighted to have sealed maximum points for his Romanian side Concordia Chiajna who secured their Premier League safety with a win over Petrolul Ploiesti Tuesday night, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Odibe headed in his second goal of the season in the 16th minute of the encounter to move his side up to fourth on the relegation round log with just one game to spare.
"We needed the win to keep up with Botosani who were 4-1 winners over ACS Poli Timisoara on Sunday," Odibe began in a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com
"I was happy to score again and get us the three points.
Concordia Chiajna host Voluntari in their final league game before their Cupa Ligii final against Steaua Bucureşti next month and the former Arsenal Kiev star is desperate to end his short spell in Romania with a winners Cup medal.
"We have to use our final home game to get ourselves into a situation to compete very well against Steaua. That’s the challenge for the next game," he said.
"One thing I can guarantee is that we are going to put everything into this.”
